Beidh léargas faoi leith le fáil an deireadh seachtaine seo ar thuairimí an phobail maidir leis na toghcháin áitiúla, Eorpacha, an reifreann agus ceisteanna ábhartha eile, mar thoradh ar phobalbhreith iarvótála atá coimisiúnaithe ag RTÉ & TG4 ón gcomhlacht neamhspleách Red C.

Tabharfaidh an phobalbhreith léargas cuimsitheach ar na pátrúin vótála, mar go gcuirfear agallamh ar 3,000 duine ar fud na tíre, díreach i ndiaidh dóibh vóta a chaitheamh ar an Aoine 24 Bealtaine.

Foilseofar torthaí na pobabhreithe i ndiaidh do na botháin vótála dúnadh, beo ar an Late Late Show, mar a mbeidh Páidí Ó Lionáird & David McCullagh ag cur na sonraí i láthair. Beidh breis eolais le fáil ar na cláir Vóta 2019 a chraolfar ar TG4 le linn na deireadh seachtaine chomh maith.

Go deimhin, beidh an nuacht is déanaí ar fad le fáil ar Vóta 2019 maidir leis na Toghcháin Áitiúla, Eorpacha, an reifreann agus na pobalbhreitheanna maidir le Méaraí a bheadh tofa go díreach, curtha i láthair ag Páidí Ó Lionaird & Eimear Ní Chonaola, le tuairiscí ó na hionaid comhaireamh ar fud na tíre agus anailís sa stiúideo ó phainéal saineolaithe – ar a n-áirítear iarcheannaire Fine Gael, Alan Dukes agus an iar-Thánaiste, Máire Ní Chochláin.

RTÉ and TG4 Commission Election Exit Poll As Part of Dedicated Election Results Coverage

 

RTÉ has joined with TG4 to commission an Election Exit Poll among its comprehensive elections results coverage across television, radio, digital platforms. The RTÉ / TG4 Exit Poll, conducted by independent research company Red C, will look to reflect voting patterns in the European and Local Elections nationwide, and the referendum, interviewing over 3,000 people across Ireland immediately after they have voted on Friday 24 May.

The RTÉ / TG4 Exit Poll result will be announced on Friday night, following the close of polls, by David McCullagh and Páidí Ó Lionaird on The Late Late Show and published simultaneously on RTÉ.ie. Further results and breakdown will be released simultaneously on RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Radio 1’s Vote 2019  from 9.00am on Saturday and on Vóta 2019 on TG4.

Online and mobile coverage will run on RTÉ.ie, the RTÉ News Now app and RTÉ Player from the opening of boxes right through to the completion of counts and the final declarations. Throughout the weekend, wherever you are, you can follow the results via the RTÉ News Now app. RTÉ.ie will run a live blog covering every detail as the count unfolds with the latest results and analysis on European and Local Elections, Divorce Referendum and Plebiscites with coverage also carried across RTÉ accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

 

As counting begins on Saturday 25 May, RTÉ Radio 1’s coverage will feature a special Vote 2019 programme at 9.00am, presented by Sean O’Rourke and Rachael English, and will continue through the day with discussion, debate and analysis on The Marian Finucane Show from 11.00amKatie Hannon will then continue presenting the latest election results radio coverage from 1.00pm – 3.00pm when she will be joined by a panel of guests for opinion and analysis along with updates from across the regions.

RTÉ One television’s Election  2019 live coverage begins at 11.00am – 1.00pm as Bryan Dobson, Claire Byrne and David McCullagh host studio discussion and reaction, including analysis of the exclusive RTÉ/ TG4 Exit Poll and the latest reports from count centres across the country. Elections 2019 continues on RTÉ One television at 3.00pm with comprehensive coverage of results from the Local Elections and the Divorce Referendum, with live count updates from around the country and tally indications from the European Elections leading up to the Six One News.

Vóta 2019 on TG4 will feature all the latest news and analysis on the European and Local Elections, the Referendum and Plebiscites. Presented by Páidí Ó Lionaird and Eimear Ní Chonaola the programmes will bring live updates from the count centres as well as analysis from studio panels including former Fine Gael leader Alan Dukes and former Tánaiste Mary Coughlan. With four programmes (Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm and 5.00-6.00pm, Sunday 11.00am-1.00pm and 7.00pm-8.00pm), this RTÉ Nuacht production for TG4 promises a lively mix of information and analysis. As well as updates on RTÉ One, Nuacht RTÉ/TG4 will be providing coverage across the weekend online and on social media.

RTÉ’s elections results coverage on Sunday 26 May will begin with a special two hour-long Vote 2019 broadcast with Rachael English and Mary Wilson from 9.00am on RTÉ Radio 1. This will be followed by a Marian Finucane Election Special at 11.00am, while Gavin Jennings and Justin McCarthy will be at the helm for an extended This Week programme at 1.00pm with further elections discussion and analysis. A special Late Debate with Sarah McInerney will report and reflect on the results of the European Elections from 10.00pm.

From 11.00am on Sunday on RTÉ One television, Aine Lawlor, Miriam O’Callaghan and David McCullagh will present results, analysis and comment on the Local Elections and the Divorce Referendum, along with live reports from around the country on the progress of the European Election count. As the final polls close across Europe at 10.00pm, Bryan Dobson, Miriam O’Callaghan and David McCullagh return with comprehensive live coverage of the European Elections, with result and reports from the three count centres around Ireland, updates from Brussels and London on the progress of the international counts, along with studio discussion and reaction.

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will have comprehensive coverage of the results of the Local and European Elections, and the Referendum on Divorce, throughout the weekend, starting at 10.15 am on Saturday morning with Lá an Chomhairimh, and continuing throughout the day, with coverage on Sunday from 9.30 am. There will be reporters in count centres across the country, and panelists in studio to analyse the results. Panelists will include former MEP Seán Ó Neachtain, journalists Áine Ní Chiaráin and Cathal Mac Coille, statistics expert Donncha Ó hÉallaithe, former Minister for Finance Alan Dukes, Aoife Ní Shúilleabháin from SIPTU, historian Cormac Ó Comhraí, History Professor Emeritus Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh, and Eoin Ó Catháin, commentator on European matters.  The coverage will be presented by Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg and Máirín Ní Ghadhra.

Coverage will also continue on programmes on the station on Monday and includes a special Late Debate with Sarah McInerney on RTÉ Radio 1 at 10.00pm.
