Record-Breaking Viewership for TG4 Player in February 2025

TG4 is celebrating its highest-ever recorded figures on the TG4 Player (TG4.ie), marking an exceptional month of viewership growth across live and on-demand streaming.
The demand for TG4’s sports coverage and entertainment programming has driven an unprecedented surge in online engagement. The standout performance came from the Cork vs. Limerick clash in the Allianz Hurling League on 1/2/25, which recorded an all-time high of 172.1K live streams, making it the most-watched live event on TG4 Player to date.
Additionally, total streaming figures in February 2025 saw a 53% increase compared to February 2024, a remarkable achievement encompassing live streaming and video-on-demand (VOD).
Sports Driving Live Streaming Growth:
The Allianz Leagues have played a significant role in boosting live viewership on TG4 Player.
Beyond hurling, TG4 provided diverse sports coverage throughout February, including:
- Peil na mBan (Ladies Football)
- Rugbaí Beo (Live Rugby)
- Cispheil Bheo (Live Basketball)
- Hockey Beo (Live Hockey)
- Corn Mhic Shigiúir & Corn Mhic Giobúin (Sigerson & Fitzgibbon Cups)
- Liathróid Láimhe (Handball)

Strong Performance in Video-On-Demand:
While live sports dominated streaming figures, VOD viewership also surged, with the new season of Laochra Gael proving to be a major success, attracting strong audience engagement.

February was also a standout month for TG4 on social media, with strong engagement across platforms.
