An Cailín Ciúin

The Colm Bairéad directed masterpiece has redefined Irish cinema that conquered the world!

Oscar-Nominated for Best International Feature Film two years ago.

The film tells the story of Cáit played by newcomer Catherine Clinch, a nine-year-old girl from an overcrowded, dysfunctional family who is sent away to live with foster parents for the summer. Despite a warm reception from the woman, Eibhlín (Carrie Crowley), the man of the house, Seán (Andrew Bennett), keeps his distance from Cáit and she from him, but over time, their strained relationship begins to deepen. But in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one painful truth. Based on Foster by Claire Keegan. An Cailín Ciúin is the debut of writer/director, Colm Bairéad and producer, Cleona Ní Chrualaoi of Inscéal. Based on Claire Keegan’s novella Foster.

Tarrac

Tarrac is an intimate character drama set in the Kerry Gaeltacht. Aoife Ní Bhraoin returns home to help her father, Breandán ‘The Bear’ Ó Braoin, recover from a heart attack. Day to day they get along just fine. As we dig a little deeper we find that there is so much that has been left unsaid about the loss of Aoife’s mother. Directed by Declan Recks, written by Eugene O’Brien and produced by Clíona Ní Bhuachalla. Cast includes Kelly Gough, Lorcan Cranitch, Kate Nic Chonaonaigh, Kate Finegan, Rachel Feeney & Cillian Ó Gairbhí.

Róise & Frank

Award winning Irish language film featuring a woman who believes a dog is the reincarnation of her late husband. Róise is still grieving the loss of her husband, Frank, two years after his passing, when a mysterious dog shows up at her door. The dog loves sport and steaks, and, has taken to a particular armchair in the house – Frank’s old spot. This series of coincidences convinces Róise that this dog is her husband, Frank, reincarnated. Her son thinks she has completely lost her mind, but the rest of the community begins to believe it too.

Foscadh

Set in the wild mountains of Connemara, Foscadh tells the story of naïve recluse John Cunliffe who is suddenly propelled into manhood at the ripe old age of 28. When his over-protective parents pass away, friendless John inherits mountain land that is in the way of a lucrative wind-farm development, and he is forced to navigate the choppy waters of romance, trust and vengeance for the first time. Starring Dónall Ó Héalaí, Fionnuala Flaherty, Cillian Ó Gairbhí and Macdara Ó Flatharta. Directed by Seán Breathnach.

Arracht

Coleman Sharkey, a man with deep roots in the community who heals people with herbs as his father did before him. In the 19th century there are rumors that blight has spoiled the potatoes. When the English Landlord doubles the rent before returning to England on a permanent basis, Coleman and Patsy try to reason with him. The night ends in fatal circumstances which leads to Coleman’s dreary life on an isolated island, until he meets 10 year old Cití. Cití teaches him to be the person he once was and gives him reason to live.

Finky

Micí Finky, a musician and puppeteer looking to escape his past, steals an envelope full of cash and runs off to Scotland with his childhood friend Tom Tom. On their first night in Glasgow, Finky suffers a horrible accident and is left paralysed from the waist down. He hits rock bottom but is given a chance at redemption when recruited by Carnival Chaotica. Starring Dara Devaney, Ned Dennehy and Diarmuid de Faoite. Directed by Dathaí Keane.
