Four nominations for TG4 in this year's RTS Ireland Television Awards

TG4 has received four nominations in the 2024 RTS Ireland Television Awards:
Current Affairs – Céad Míle Fáilte, Clean State Television (TG4)
Factual Single – Inis Meáin, Idir Dhá Linn, Aniar (TG4)
Sport – Gaiscí GPA i Kenya, Nemeton TV (TG4)
Sport – Misneach – Alex Lee, Midas Productions (TG4)
Nominees revealed in 10 categories for this year’s RTS Ireland Television Awards. Juries considered over 130 entries from across the industry.
Addressing the unveiling of the nominees for this year’s Gradaim RTS, Lís Ní Dhálaigh, Director of Marketing, Development and Partnerships and TG4 representative of RTS Ireland Awards, extends congratulations to all the nominees. “There was strong competition in each category, and these nominations showcase the excellence of Irish language programs. Well done to all the nominees for their outstanding achievements.”
The winners will be revealed on the evening of Tuesday March 19th at a celebratory event in Dublin’s Liberty Hall Theatre. A limited number of tickets for the event are available to purchase from the 27th of February at:

Iniúchadh TG4 – Céad Míle Fáilte
Journalist Kevin Magee examines the rise in anti-immigration protests around Ireland and the role played by a few activists from the anti-immigration movement to drive the protests. Disinformation in relation to people in international protection are exposed in the programme.
Misneach – Alex Lee
An Irish and Geography teacher in Galway’s Bish by day, Alex began his journey as a para-athlete in 2018. In the past 6 years he has learned how to walk, how to run and how to sprint. Filmed over 18 months, this documentary captures the incredible story of how Alex Lee became Ireland’s first bladerunner. Featuring personal archive detailing much of Alex’s journey, this is a story about persistence, grit and a refusal to give up.

Inis Meáin Idir Dhá Linn
‘Inis Meáin: Idir Dhá Linn’ is a captivating documentary that transports viewers to a remote island, offering a poetic glimpse into its past, present, and future. A young English film student Chris Rodmell’s lens beautifully captured the island’s residents 50 years ago as they teetered on the cusp of change. In this documentary, Chris returns to complete the second chapter, bridging the past with the present. The documentary delves into the island’s vibrant community, from long-standing residents to newcomers and curious visitors.

Gaiscí GPA i Kenya
A total behind the scenes of 50 GAA Players who are taking a trip to Kenya to plant 1 million trees. We get an insight into the players’ journey learning new cultures and about the world around them. All on behalf of Self Help Africa & Help us Plant 1 million trees in conjunction with the GPA.
