TG4 Weekend viewing proves that Traditional Music and Gaelic Games are tops

TG4’s acclaimed live coverage brought the best of Irish music and Irish Gaelic game to viewers over the weekend, resulting in the highest viewing figures of the summer on the channel.
Fleadh TV was broadcast on the channel for three hours each night Friday-Sunday, reaching 672,000 people in total (inclusive of daytime repeats). The concluding Fleadh TV programme on Sunday night averaged a 7.8% share of Adults (and a 9.2% share of Housekeepers).
There were 322,000 Facebook views of Fleadh TV clips on Sunday alone.
As the All Ireland Minor Football, U-21 Hurling and the TG4 Ladies Football Championships reached the business end of their respective competitions on Saturday and Sunday, TG4 presented live coverage of five matches over the weekend, reaching 528,000 individuals. The clash between Cavan and Kerry in the Minor Football Championship Semi-Final on Sunday at 1pm was watched by an average of 138,900 people and commanded a 20.3% share of Adults 15+.
As viewers tuned in to enjoy the music, sport and other programming during the weekend, TG4 posted a 5.4% share of Adults on Sunday. On Saturday, the channel registered a 6.1% share of Adults – greater than RTE2 (5.0%), 3e (2.6%), be3 (1.8%), BBC1 (4.7%) and BBC2 (1.1%). It was the highest single day share on TG4 since April 23rd.
