There has been further recognition of TG4’s excellence in creative output with the channel’s Cúlacaint series of language-learning Apps taking the coveted, Irish language prize (Gradam Gnó as Gaeilge) at last night’s All-Ireland Marketing Awards, presented at a Gala Award ceremony in Dublin.
Innovative TG4 Apps win major prize at AIM 2015
15.05.15
This award was made to TG4 for its 3 Cúlacaint Apps, devised, created, and produced in-house by TG4. The stations’ Apps faced stiff competition in its category from Google Ireland, Independent News & Media, RTÉ – Nuacht, and Tesco Ireland.
They have been hailed as an entertaining way to extend the Irish vocabulary of young children and learners of Irish. Each of the Apps introduces everyday terminology in various fun scenarios, creating a language learning journey, voiced in a cheerful manner by children reflecting the playful nature of the Cúla Caint series.
The All-Ireland Marketing Awards programme, organised by The Marketing Institute of Ireland, is the nation’s premier awards scheme that celebrates excellence and recognises the best work from Irish marketing professionals and acknowledges their major contribution to the economy of our island.
Pádraic Ó Ráighne, TG4’s Marketing Executive, congratulated all those involved in the creation of the award-winning Apps for the channel “These highly prestigious awards are recognition by our peers in the marketing sector that TG4 is very successful in creating, devising, producing and publishing its own distinctive content, not just in TV programming” he said. “We are delighted to have this latest recognition for our súil eile.”
