TG4 are delighted to announce that they have teamed up with Subaru, the official car partner to TG4, to provide some great live entertainment at the National Ploughing Championships which will take place next week in Ballintrane, Fenagh, Co. Carlow from Tuesday 17th September to Thursday 19th September.
A musical feast of song, dance and country music will be performed each day at the Subaru Stand Block 2, Row 23, Stand 528 welcomed daily by TG4’s Caitlín Nic Aoidh.
On Tuesday 17th September, Gradam Ceoil TG4 Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2017, Liam O’Brien and friends, Derek Hickey and Kate McHugh will perform at 11:30 am and again at 2:30pm. ‘Glór Tíre’ mentor, and country music star Trudi Lalor will sing country favourites a lunchtime gig at 1pm and again at 4pm.
Wednesday 18th September, ‘Glór Tíre’ mentor Ciarán Rosney will perform at 11:30am and again at 2:30pm, a chance to see Connemara sean-nós dancer extraordinaire Rónán Ó Conghaile will dance and also sing and play live traditional music at lunchtime 1pm and again at 4pm Mike Denver will also perform at the Subaru stand.
On the final day of the 89th Ploughing Championships, Thursday 19th September, country fans are in for a real treat, with live performances from country music queen Susan McCann at 2:30pm and again at 3:30pm, Jim Devine will also perform at 11am and again at 1:30pm. Ráth Chairn sisters and winners of this year’s TG4 ‘Réalta and Gaolta’ series, Étáin and Máire Ní Churraoin duet will perform at 12pm and again at 3pm.
